Yes, Mr. Barnao, "Salient" is really interested.

We are very happy to accept your challenge.

Efforts are already being make to include the debate in the Debating Society's fixtures, and further details will be announced later. The exact formulation of the actual motion will be settled between us. The only condition we will make—and, we think, a very fair one—is that the debate should be between three members of our staff and yourself and two others, who must be Victoria College students.

As we do not wish to argue about it in the debate, may we clear up one point now? We refer to your assertion that we suppressed the historical facts which you presented on the occasion of Dr. Sutch's lecture in the gym. But as we handed over the reporting of the meeting to an ultraconservative who is a firm supporter of Franco, and gave him an absolutely free choice as regards presentation of the report, we feel that you are not justified in complaining of the alleged suppression.

Looking forward to meeting you,— Yours sincerely,

The Staff, "Salient."
