In such an ulcerous epoch as our own when writing has come to be synonymous with commercial Journalism—which may be briefly but accurately defined as the most degrading form or the most degrading of all vices mental prostitution—there is more than Just a casual need for protective measures.
"Salient" has decided to devote a whole page at regular Intervals to the printing of new writing—of an imaginative or documentary nature. Either in prose or verse.
It is hoped to include a stratum of experimental work which should be capable of making something like an Impact.
This scheme cannot succeed unless there is energetic and widespread participation.
This is an ultimatum to Phoenix Club members and the innumerable others involved—an ultimatum insisting on your immediate co-operation.
