The Jordan river, viewed from a hill top, is like a gigantic, writhing snake. Its length, if all it's windings are measured, is 200 miles, but the actual course is only sixty miles. It is s in the fork of the Anti-Libanus ranges; and runs from north to south, parallel to the blue Mediterranean. It has three distinct stages: First, its stream enters the Jake of Merom; then, continuing its journey to the Sea of Galilee, it falls 300 feet.
