HARRISON, Robert 1854–1923

Probably a “Captain R. Harrison” a mariner. In a newspaper account of an OAS exhibition his competence as a marine painter is related to the fact of his being a “seaman”. Exhibited OAS 1888–1921, NZ and South Seas Ex 1889–90 one painting a shipping subject and one named “A Young Colonial”. Watercolours c.1867 are in Hocken.
