January 1858 came to New Zealand because of health. Painted landscapes of the northern part of the South Island, many of them of Marlborough and Nelson. Lived with J. C. Haytor then took page 264 over Raydale property. Exhibited with Fine Arts Assoc Wtn 1883–84 as a Picton member: NZ and South Seas Ex Dunedin 1889–90.
