WARDELL, Herbert S.
When Eliza Jones, later Mrs J. Stack, was in Poverty Bay 1859–60 page 247 she wrote that she went on an excursion with Miss Thorne and Mr Wardell. Mr Wardell was an artist who lived ten miles from Archdeacon William Williams's mission station at Waierenga-a-hika. He was mentioned in Stack's Further Maoriland Adventures pub. 1938.
