SWANSON, William 1847–1928

At some time the son William Swanson took painting lessons from L. J. Steele. Had property at Mangere and at Rangiriri and painted in both districts: lived for a long time on the North Shore. A very competent watercolour of Onehunga is in ACAG. A William Swanson was listed as a Hawke's Bay artist, 1880–81 Wise's.
