Daughter of Classics Professor at Otago University, Dunedin, and possibly a niece of painter Mrs Davidson. Went to London c.1898 and studied under A. S. Cope RA, Borough Johnson, specialising in portraiture. In 1901 joined painters Frances Hodgkins and D. K. Richmond in France for a short period before returning to Dunedin in November 1901 but eventually left New Zealand. Exhibited: OAS 1902–08. Represented: Hocken.
