ROBERTS, Dr William Stewart Weeding 1853–1937

Practised in Oamaru for seven months in 1878, then moved to Dunedin Hospital, later a well-known Dunedin doctor who was a friend of the painter W. M. Hodgkins. In 1885 lectured on path- page 207 ology at Otago University. After many years retired to his farm at Middlemarch but in 1921 took up an appointment at Seacliff Mental Hospital. Was a member of the Dunedin Art Club. Exhibited: OAS 1880–1921. Represented: Hocken.
