No. 879 (1907).—Petition of Whare Rahi and 11 Others, re Whangamarino Confiscations.
Re a tract of country known as Whangamarino Block, near Te Paina (Mercer), which was confiscated after the Waikato war: The land was the ancestral country of the Ngati Hape Hapu, the descendants of which ask for compensation in land.
I am directed to report that the Committee has no recommendation to make.

Mo tetahi takiwa whenua e karangatia nei ko Whangamarino Poraka, e tata ana ki Te Paina (Mercer), i murua i ruuga i te raupatu i te mutunga o te whawhai i Waikato. Ko taua whenua te whenua tupuna o Ngati Hape Hapu, a ko o ratou uri e tono ana kia kapeneheihanatia (ara kia utua) ratou ki tetahi whenua.
Kua whakahaua ahau kia ripoata kaore kau he kupu a te Komiti.
