No. 626 (1907).—Petition of Maria I. Hamlin.

Petitioner prays that she may be undisturbed in the occupation of certain blocks until the expiry of the leases, and, if necessary, for special legislation.

I am directed to report that this petition be referred to the Government for favourable consideration, with a rider that it is desirable that amendments should be made to "The Maori Land Settlement Act, 1905," whereby power would be given to the Board to inquire into and determine any equitable claims that may exist over all or any lands taken under section 8 of the said Act.
