No. 88, 1906.—Petition of Pene Tahui and 28 Others.

Petitioners pray that a Commission be appointed to inquire why Catholic schools in which Maori children are educated do not receive monetary assistance from the Government.

I am directed to report that, in the opinion of this Committee, this petition should be referred to the Education Committee.

No. 88, 1906.—Pitihana a Pene Tahui ratou ko etahi atu tangata e rua tekau ma waru.

E inoi ana nga kai-pitihana kia whakaturia he Komihana hei uiui i te take i kore ai e hoatu he moni tautoko e te Kawanatanga ki nga kura Katorika e ako ana i nga tamariki Maori.

Kua whakahaua ahau kia ripoata, ki te whakaaro o te Komiti me tuku atu tenei pitihana ki te Komiti mo nga Mahi Kura.
