No. 434, 1903.—Petition of Teone Paraone and Another, of Taumutu, Canterbury.
Petitioners complain that land at Taumutu, on the shores of Lake Ellesmere, intended for the sole use of the Maoris of that district, has gone into the hands of one person on a ninety-nine years lease. They pray that the said lease may be determined and the land handed over to the rightful owners.
I am directed to report that the Committee has no recommendation to make with regard to this petition.
