Nos. 1210 and 1282, 1901; and No. 81, 1902.—Petitions of Hekenui te Awhe and 45 Others; Wehi Rangitanga and 45 others; Tanira Tarei and 8 Others.

Petitioners pray for rehearing in connection with the Rangitoto A Block.

I am directed to report that the Committee recommends that these petitions should be referred to the Government with the suggestion that they may be submitted to the Maori Land Council of the district wherein the land is situated to report as to the advisability or otherwise of reopening the case.

Kua whakahaua ahau kia ki penei, ki te whakaaro o te Komiti me tuku atu enei pitihana ki te Kawanatanga me te ki atu me tuku aua mea ki te Kaunihera Whenua Maori o te Takiwa i takoto ai taua whenua, a ma te Kaunihera i roto i tana ripoata e tohutohu mehemea e tika aua, kaore ranei e tika ana, kia whakatuwheratia ano taua keehi.
