Reports of the Native Affairs Committee, 1902.

[No. 793, 1901. —Petition of T. R. Ellison.]

No. 793, 1901. —Petition of T. R. Ellison.

Petitioner prays that legislation may be passed to enable him to appeal to the Supreme Court against the decisions of the Native Appellate Court in the case of the will of the late Katerina Hape, of Waikouaiti.

I am directed to report that the Committee is of opinion that the petitioner should have an opportunity of taking his case to the Supreme Court, and therefore recommends that the Government introduce legislation to give effect to the prayer of the petition.
