No. 477, 1902. —Petition of Christopher N. Fernie and Another, of Tongoio, Hawke's Bay.
Petitioners allege that owing to the passing of "The Native Land Claims Adjustment and Lands Amendment Act, 1901," the survey of their land, the Arapawanui Block, has been declared void. They pray for a refund of £195 13s. 6d. to cover the cost of same.
I am directed to report that the Committee recommends that this petition be referred to the Government for favourable consideration.
