No. 383, 1899.—Petition of Hori Herewini and Others.
Petitioners complain that certain land of theirs at Whangape, on the banks of the Waikato River, has been wrongfully taken from them, and they pray for restitution.
I am directed to report that the Committee is of opinion that the land in question should be resurveyed in order that the petitioners may obtain their just rights, and it is recommended that this petition be referred to the Government for inquiry.
