No. 616.—Petition of Henare Korako Karetai and 9 Others.
Petitioners pray that the "tenths" of the Otakou Block, or land of equal value, may be set apart for their people, and that further compensation may be granted for deprivation of their rights for so many years.
I am directed to report that the Committee recommends that this petition be referred to the Government for inquiry.

E inoi ana nga kai-pitihana ko nga "whakatekau" o Otakou Poraka, ko etahi whenua ranei e rite ana te wariu, me ata wehe hei whenua mo o ratou iwi, a ko tetahi me utu ratou mo te tangohanga o o ratou tika i roto i nga tau maha kua pahemo nei.
Kua whakahaua ahau kia ki penei, ki te whakaaro o te Komiti me tuku tenei pitihana ki te Kawanatanga kia uiuia.
