No. 346, 1897.—Petition of Kihiringi Morenga and 20 Others.
Petitioners allege that an island near Muriwhenua, named Motuapao, was not included in the sale of the neighbouring land. They pray for inquiry as to ownership, in order that they may establish their right to the same.
I am directed to report that the Committee has no recommendation to make with regard to this petition.

No. 346, 1897.—Pitihana a Kihiringi Morenga me etahi atu e rua tekau.
E ki ana nga kai-pitihana ko tetahi moutere e tata ana ki Muriwhenua, ko Motuapao te ingoa, kaore i aru ki te hoko o te tuawhenua e tata ana ki taua moutere; e inoi ana ratou kia whakawakia ko wai ma nga tangata i tika ki taua wahi, kia ai ai he huarahi e tau ai o ratou take ki taua wahi.
Kua whakahaua ahau kia ki penei, kaore kau a te Komiti kupu mo tenei pitihana.
