No. 321, 1897.—Petition of Te Heuheu Tukino and 213 Others.

Petitioners pray that all restrictions may be removed from the lands in the Rohe-potae district which have passed through the Native Land Court, in order that they may deal with them as they may deem fit, and that favourable consideration be given to Mr. Kaihau's Bill (the Maori Council Constitution Bill).

I am directed to report that the Committee has no recommendation to make with regard to this petition.

E inoi ana nga kai-pitihana kia wetekina katoa nga here e mau nei i runga i nga whenua o roto i te takiwa o te Rohe-potae kua paahitia nei e te Kooti Whenua Maori, kia taea ai e ratou te whakahaere o aua whenua i runga i a ratou tikanga e pai ai, a ko tetahi kia whiriwhiria paitia te Pire a Henare Kaihau (ara, te Pire Whakamana Kaunihera Maori).

Kua whakahaua ahau kia ki penei, kaore kau a te Komiti kupu mo runga i tenei pitihana.
