No. 204.—Petition of Taui Takerei.
Petitioner prays for compensation for lands taken for railway purposes from Okoheriki No. 2 Block.
I am directed to report that, as it appears the land was transferred to Her Majesty in 1883 for a nominal consideration for the purposes of the Rotorua Railway, and as no evidence has been placed before the Committee to show why the land should be now paid for, the Committee has no recommendation to make.
