No. 392 Petition of Te Reneti te Whauwhau.

Petitioners pray that Tuhua (Mayor) Island may be reserved to them, as they do not wish to sell any portion of it.

I have the honour to report that the Committee is of opinion that Mayor Island should be proclaimed a permanent Native Reserve for the benefit of the Native owners thereof.

17th October, 1895.

E Inoi ana nga kai-pitihana kia rahuitia mo ratou te Moutere o Tuhua, i te mea kaore ratou i te hiahia ki te hoko i tetahi wahi o taua motu.

E whai honore ana ahau ki te ripoata, ki te whakaaro a te Komiti me puta he panuitanga mo te Moutere o Tuhua hei whakatuturu i taua wahi hei rahui Maori mo nga tangata Maori nona taua motu.
