No. 283.—Petition of Edward Douglas.
Petitioner prays that legislation may be provided to remedy an alleged injustice done to his wife and family by the action of the Native Land Court.
I have the honour to report that the Committee are of opinion that this petition should be referred to the Government, with the recommendation that the Chief Judge of the Native Land Court be asked to suggest the necessary legislation required to give relief to the petitioner and others in a similar position.
