Reports of the Native Affairs Committee, 1895

[No. 734, 1894.—Petition of Timoti Puhipi and 5 Others (No. 2).]

No. 734, 1894.—Petition of Timoti Puhipi and 5 Others (No. 2).

Petitioners pray that certain land in the Tangongi Swamp may be returned to them.

I have the honour to report that the Committee recommends, as these grievances are of very long standing, and as it will be the means of settling these matters and putting the minds of the Natives at rest for once and for all, that the Stipendiary Magistrate of the distract be appointed and authorised to inquire into the allegations set forth in the petition.

26th July, 1895.
