Nos. 555, 1894, and 67, 1895.—Petition of Honana Maioha and Mita Karaka Ngatipare and 23 Others.

Petitioners pray that legislation may be granted to enable a rehearing to be made in connection with Te Akau Block.

I have the honour to report,—

1. That the petitioners have not appeared before the Committee.
2. That the report of the Judge who heard the case on a rehearing shows that the claims of the petitioners were duly considered, and that at the close of the case, on judgment being given, all parties expressed their satisfaction.
3. That, in face of this report, the Committee has no recommendation to make.
23rd July, 1895.
