Reports of the Native Affairs Committee, 1894.

[No. 141.—Petition of W. H. Taipari and 150 Others.]

No. 141.—Petition of W. H. Taipari and 150 Others.

Petitioners pray that the following Acts may be repealed, as they press unduly on the Natives—viz.: The Rating Act, in its application to the Natives, the Bill for the Settlement of Native Lands, and the Dog-tax Act.

I am directed to report that the Committee is of opinion that, as the petition refers to matters of policy, it should be referred to the Government for consideration.
