No. 167.—Petition of Te Korowhiti Tuataka (Mrs. Douglas) (No. 1).

Petitioner prays for an inquiry into the purchase of the Waiharakeke Block, and a refund of expenses incurred in sending witnesses to Wellington in connection with a former petition.

I am directed to report that the Committee is of opinion, as the Government has the matter of this petition under consideration, they he urged to hasten the inquiry and to give effect to the recommendation of the Committee in 1893.

E inoi ana te kai-pitihana kia uiuia te hoko o Waiharakeke Poraka a kia whakahokia atu hoki nga moni i pau i te tukunga mai i nga kai-whaaki kupu ki Poneke mo runga mo tetahi pitihana ano i mua ake nei.

Kua whakahaua ahau kia ki penei: Kei te whakaaro te Komiti, i te mea kei te tirotirohia e te Kawanatanga te take o tenei pitihana, me tono atu te Kawanatanga kia tere te uiui a kia whakaritea hoki te kupu a te Komiti i te tau 1893.
