Reports of the Native Affairs Committee, 1893.

[No. 262.—Petition of T. H. Smith.]

No. 262.—Petition of T. H. Smith.

Petitioner prays that an additional sum of £50 may be paid to him as interest on money which he states was wrongfully withheld in connection with disputed land-purchase in the Maketu District.

I have the honour to report that the Committee find, on going through the papers in connection with this case, that the petitioner was paid £100 in full satisfaction of all his claims. (See Treasury Voucher 2632, 1st February, 1890.) Consequently no recommendation can be made.
