No. 45.—Petition of Hemi Paeara.

Petitioner complains that a Mr. White has taken possession of certain lands, known as Taemaro and Whakaangi, in a wrongful manner.

I have the honour to report that the Petitions Committee is of opinion that the petition should be referred to the Government, with the recommendation that Mr. Clendon, Resident Magistrate of the district, should be appointed to investigate the matter referred to, with a view to having the question settled.
