No. 552.—Petition of John G. Stevens and 11 Others.

Petitioners pray that a Native Land Court sitting may be held at Riverton for the purpose of considering the claims to Native reserves at Jacobs River.

I have the honour to report that the Committee recommends that this petition be referred to the Government for consideration in connection with the grants proposed to be made to Natives without land in the South Island.
