Correction
It has been brought to our notice that an error of fact was printed in an earlier issue of the Journal. The writer tenders his apologies and we have pleasure in presenting the facts as supplied to us by Mr Denis J. Richardson of Delaware Bay, who writes as follows:–
"In the Society's April 1973 Journal, Vol. 2, No. 6, page 27 – wherein the narrow strip of land known as Nukunuku is stated as 'still the property of the Maori people'.
"The land in question has been owned by individual persons since 1926 when it was first transferred to Mr Reuben Stephens and his sister, Mrs Konehu Bailey.
"I purchased the property from Alfred Fuller in 1969. Mr Fuller in turn, inherited the property from his father, who purchased the land in question from Mrs Konehu Bailey in 1933.
"The property has a clear title, subject only to right-of-ways; this has been confirmed by the Department of Lands and Survey.
"Yours faithfully, Denis J. Richardson."
Thank you, Mr Richardson, for supplying the correct informatiom. – Editor.
