Foreword

In this latest Bulletin of the Nelson Historical Society will be found some brief details of papers presented at our recent meeting. In addition to these addresses we have, however, made much progress in arranging for the future considerable expansion of our activities.

The Nelson Provincial Historical Museum Trust has been established. This includes representation of all Nelson local bodies in addition to representatives of our Society and other organisations, and we now feel that adequate finance will be available to store and protect safely our many valuable collections.

I would commend the present little publication as our best effort, produced under very limited opportunities.
