I am still at it. Oh! can I hear about that MS. and what are you going to say? Now I'm up, now I'm down —but I'm awfully frightened. The rest of the world can take a 99 year lease of all the houses in Putney—but—what do you think?

I have such a passion, such a passion for life in the country—for peace, for you lying on your back in the sun page 125 looking up through wavy boughs, for you planting things that climb sticks—for me cutting things that have a sweet smell. Once the war is over, this is ours on the spot. For we shall live so remote that the rent won't cost much—and then you will become so dreadfully idle, with long curly hair like a pony that has been turned out to graze in a speckled field….
