Baron C. De Thierry To Under-Secretary Horton

TheBaron Charles de Thierry has the honor to present his compliments to Mr. Horton, and having been informed that some persons under Government have expressed fears that the convicts from New South Wales and Van Dieman’s Land will be induced to escape to his colony at New Zealand, he begs to assure Mr. Horton and His M.’s Governt. that so far from allowing it, he will instantly cause such convicts to be placed in safety and sent back by the first ship going to either of the above places.
