Sir,—
I find that my reply to your letter of 19th instant cannot probably be sent to you until Monday. I therefore beg, as Mr. Izard, who, on the guarantee of the Government, undertook, with Mr. Allan, the conduct and general expenses of the case, has returned to town, that you will communicate to him the desire of the Government to withdraw that guarantee.
