His Excellency has directed me to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of the 9th instant, and to inform you that as the arrival of the Bishop may be daily expected, His Excellency thinks it better to delay replying to this letter until he has had an opportunity of conferring with His Lordship, who, he understands, has recently visited Port Cooper.
