A National Motto
A National Motto.
On History's page, in lines of light,
That Time shall darken never,
Her name shall stand for ever bright,
The brave old ship « Endeavour. »
Zealandia to this tie shall cling,
Though other bonds may sever,
And hear her history's key-note ring
In the name of the « Endeavour. »
And ye! her sons! in every field,
Make this your watchword ever,
And this the blazon on your shield
The one brave word, « Endeavour. »
Macandro.
