One of the great efforts of the Home Railways at the present time is to popularise railway travel. The experience of the New Zealand Railways, in respect to motor competition generally, tallies closely with that of the four big group Railways of Britain. In his present Letter our Special London Correspondent outlines the methods designed to deal with this problem in the Homeland, and reviews other rail transport developments in Britain and on the Continent.
