The World'S Record Run.

What is claimed to be the world's fastest train journey was accomplished on 8th July last by the Great Western Railway (England). The journey was between Swindon and Paddington, a distance of 77 ¼ miles, the time occupied being 68 minutes. A speed of over 61 miles an hour was recorded two miles out of Swindon, whilst at Challow, 13 miles from the starting point, a speed of 80.7 miles per hour was reached.
