Service that Pleases

Service that Pleases

From the Executive Committee of the Queenstown Citizens' Carnival Association to the General Manager of Railways, Mr. H. H. Sterling:—

Dear Mr. Sterling,—The Executive Committee of the Queenstown Citizens' Carnival Association desires to convey to you its appreciation and thanks for all the assistance given by the Lake Wakatipu Steamer Service during the recent carnival held in Queenstown.

We valued the assistance given so willingly and ungrudgingly by every member of the staff, from the officer in charge, Captain Geo. Herbert, downwards. Every one joined with us with untiring energy and enthusiasm in our effort to popularise this well favoured tourist resort. And what is also important, this recent effort, with the help of your service, demonstrated to all, locals as well as tourists, the very great asset we have in this beautiful lake and the fine steamship “Earnslaw.”

The committee feel sure that the carnival has increased the popularity of this part of the world so that in future the tourist traffic should be larger than ever before.

With every good wish for the success and welfare of your Department, and hoping some day soon to be able to welcome you in our midst.—Yours faithfully,

(Sgd.) W. A. Anderson, Chairman C. M. Inglis, Organising Secretary.
