The mine comprises 119 acres, held under licenses from the Crown. Water-races are brought in from a very considerable distance, and carry altogether thirty-four heads of water. The elevator shown in the illustration raises the wash dirt 44 feet. The nominal capital of the Company is £20,000, divided into 2,000 shares of £10 each, of which 1500 shares are fully paid up, and 500 shares are hold in reserve. This Company had, up to the 31st of March, 1903, paid in dividends to its shareholders £9,750, or £6 10s per share.
