Miss Angusina Ross , formerly Headmistress of the Waihemo Public School, was born at Waianakarua, and educated at the Waianakarua and Otepopo public schools. She served four years as a pupil teacher in Herbert, and after a year's training at the Normal school, Dunedin, was appointed relieving teacher at Balclutha, where she served for three months before being appointed to the Waihemo School, in 1899.
