Mr. Alfred Martin is a native of Cambridgeshire, England, and learned his business with the old-established firm of Mr. Alexander Mackintosh, of Cambridge. He arrived in Auckland in 1881, and entered the service of Mr. Reuben Nicholls, the well-known range manufacturer of Upper Queen Street, Auckland. After working with several other colonial firms he entered into partnership with Messrs Broady and Allan, in 1892, and has helped to raiso the firm to its present prosperity.
