The Cyclopedia of New Zealand [Auckland Provincial District]

Mr. John Williamson

Mr. John Williamson, whose sketch is given among the “Superintendents of Auckland,” sat in Parliament from 1856 until 1875. For the first four years he represented the Pensioner Settlements, but in 1861 he was elected for Auckland City West, and continued to represent that constituency until his death, which occurred on the 10th of February, 1875. His funeral took place on Saturday, the 20th of the month, and was one of the largest which up to that time had been witnessed in Auckland.
