An Act to further amend "The Fencing Act, 1881." Title.

Be it Enacted by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—

1.The Short Title of this Act is "The Fencing Act 1881 Short Title. Amendment Act, 1893"; and it shall be read and construed together with "The Fencing Act, 1881," herein referred to as "the said Act."
2.Section sixteen of the said Act is hereby amended by the substitution Six calendar months in place of one, in section 16 of original Act. of the word "six" for the word "one" in the fourth line of the Said Section.
3.
Section thirty-one of the said Act is hereby amended by the Proviso in section 31 of original Act. addition thereto of the following proviso:—

Provided that with the exception of orders made by Resident Magistrates under the powers conferred by section thirty-two of this Act, all moneys recoverable under this Act may be sued for and recovered in any Court of competent jurisdiction.

4.Schedule A of the said Act is hereby amended by the insertion Addition to Schedule A of the original Act. of a new description of sufficient fence, namely: 15a. A batten and wire fence, to be at least four feet in height, posts to be of durable wood, not more than ten feet apart, with one or more wires, top wire to be not less than three feet six inches from the surface of the ground, and the wires to be not lighter than number eight in iron or number twelve in steel; the battens to be of durable wood, and to be of not less than three inches in width by not less than one inch in thickness, the battens to be either securely stapled or intertwined in wires in an upright position, and to be not more than three inches apart.
