Storm Bird

Iron, screw steamer, built by J. Lawrie & Co. in 1854. Sold to Wellington Steam Navigation Co. (April 1861) and under the command of Captain George Mundle, when she was sent to rescue the White Swan's passengers and crew from Uriti Point. Wreaked at the Wanganui River mouth on 2nd September 1916.
