Te Kooti's deserted prayer-house at Te Awahou, Rotorua. The Ngati-Rangiwewehi section of the Arawa people built this meeting-house for Te Kooti on his visit to the Rotorua district some years after the general amnesty to rebels. The large whare was regarded as sacred after his departure.
