After graduating B.A. this year, Chris Pottinger is doing English Honours. He has an Exec. term behind him and on the strength of his record in student activities has the necessary experience to make a most successful President. He has been associated with the Rugby Club in '48, '49, the Drama Club committee in '48, '49, '40. As an Exec-Member he was Gym. Controller and the fact that it is still standing must redound enormously to his credit. He was also leader of the VUC delegation to N.Z.U.S.A. Easter Tournament. The Procession for which he was Controller was the best in years. He is a supporter of International Student Co-operation particularly ISS, Student Congress, the Common Common Room, a new deal in the Cafeteria. The furtherance of the new Union Building will have top priority and if necessary a policy of retrenchment in the Association's finances to avoid the raising of fees. His record speaks for itself and his proposers have every confidence in his ability to be a worthy President.
Nominator: Tom Heath

Audrey, at present women's vice president, is one of the hardest working members on the retiring executive. She has been on it since
Audrey's views on problems of the world are unknown and no doubt insoluble, she has been heard to say in a moment of mental aberration that "men are disgusting," however, don't hold that against her. Her views on the Common common room are inexpressable, but although she's opposed (quite misguidedly) to the present locale of the common room, she has wielded a fine paint brush during working parties. As some one has said, there are a lot of things that could be said about Audrey and to sing her praises would take more than the meagre allowance given here. Seriously Audrey has ideas and energy that make her indispensable to the executive.
Nominator: Chris Pottinger.

Working on the principle that irrespective of political colour those students who have been keenly interested in student affairs and prepared to take on responsibilities connected with them, should be preferred as Exec, members to less energetic types, I feel that Frank Curtin deserves well from the Electorate.
