Be It Enacted by the General Assembly of New Zealand in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—
The Northern Maori Electoral District shall comprise so much of the North Island of New Zealand as lies to the northward of Kaipara Harbour, and a straight line drawn from Mataia, at Kaipara Harbour, to Matakana, on the shore of the Hauraki Gulf, including the Islands of Great and Little Barrier, and other Islands adjacent thereto.
The Waikato Maori Electoral District shall comprise so much of the North Island of New Zealand as lies within the boundaries following:—Commencing at the South Head of Kaipara Harbour; thence by the sea coast to the River Mokau; thence by that river to the north-east angle of the Province of Taranaki; thence by a straight line to Titiraupenga; thence by a straight line to Taurangakohu; thence by a straight line to the source of the Manukatutahi Stream; thence by that stream to the River Waikato; thence by a straight line to Inuera; thence by a straight line to the Wairere Waterfall; thence by the Watershed Range, between the River Thames and Tauranga Harbour, to the summit of Te Aroha Mountain; thence by a straight line to Ngakuriawhare; thence by the sea coast to Matakana aforesaid; thence by a straight line to Mataia aforesaid; thence by the sea coast to the point of commencement; including the Islands of Kawau, Rangitoto, Motutapu, Waiheke, Great Mercury, Shoe and Slipper, and other Islands adjacent thereto.
The Bay of Plenty Maori Electoral District shall comprise so much of the North Island of New Zealand as lies within the boundaries following:—Commencing at the Ngakuriawhare on the sea coast; thence by the sea to Cape Runaway; thence by a straight line to the summit of Hikurangi; thence by the Watershed Range to Waikaremona Lake; thence by a straight line to the summit of Tauhara; thence by a straight line to the nearest peak of the Ruahine Range; thence by a straight line to the summit of Ruapehu; thence by a straight line to the summit of Tongariro; thence by a straight line to the summit of Kakaramea; thence by a straight line to the summit of Puketapu; thence by a straight line to the summit of Tuhua; thence by a straight line to the summit of Hurakia; thence by a straight line to the summit of Titiraupenga; thence by the south-east boundary of the Waikato Maori Electoral District to the point of commencement; including the Islands of Mayor, Mohiti, Rangiwhaea, and other Islands adjacent thereto.
The Taranaki Maori Electoral District shall comprise so much of the North Island of New Zealand as lies within the boundaries following:—Commencing at the River Mokau; thence by the Waikato Maori Electoral District to Titiraupenga; thence by the Bay of Plenty Maori Electoral District to the summit of Ruapehu; thence by a straight line to the point where the the southern boundary of the Province of Taranaki strikes the River Wanganui; thence by the River Wanganui to the sea; thence by the sea coast to the point of commencement.
The Eastern Maori Electoral District shall comprise so much of the North Island of New Zealand as lies within the boundaries following:—Commencing at Cape Runaway; thence by the sea coast to Turakirae Point; thence by a straight line to the summit of the Rimutaka Range; thence by a straight line to the nearest point of the Tararua Range; thence by that range to the Manawatu Gorge; thence to the Ruahine Range; thence by the Ruahine Range to its northern extremity; thence by the Bay of Plenty Maori Electoral District to the point of commencement.
The Cook Strait Maori Electoral District shall comprise all that portion of the North Island of New Zealand not comprised in the district above defined, and so much of the Middle Island of New Zealand as lies to the northward of a line drawn from Cape Campbell (Te Karaka) on the East Coast to the River Karamea on the West Coast, including the Islands of Arapaoa, Kapiti, and Mana, and other Islands adjacent thereto.
The Southern Maori Electoral District shall comprise all that part of the Middle Island of New Zealand not contained in the Cook Strait Maori Electoral District; also Stewart's Island, and the Islands adjacent thereto.
