A light breeze is drawing aft—stun' sails set. The air fresh and sun not too hot. What we would call a fine October day in England. Course S. ¼ E. Lat. 31.45 S. A day more will bring us to the latitude of the Cape. The birds still keeping us company. A woman in the steerage asked to be allowed to try her hand on some of the muslin patterns. page 56Picked up three Wellington papers containing abuse of E. J. Wakefield*—the great charge being that of gross immorality with the natives.
